    Video: Raise Hope for Congo

Actor and activist Ryan Gosling recently traveled with the Enough Project to eastern Congo to witness first-hand the effects of war there. From the scenes he captured, Ryan created this moving video for the Enough Project’s “Raise Hope for Congo” campaign working to end the war in Congo. To learn more, visit RaiseHopeForCongo.org

  3. love <3

Just a little inspiration for love…

Sitting at the desk today in the bone and this couple comes up to me, they were already cute from the beginning and just looked so in love.  They husband then asked me where students hang out in the new building, if there were any lounges or anything where students could just go to play cards.  I look over at the wife and she just had a huge smile on her face and then she turns to me and says, “It’s our 40th anniversary and we met playing cards in the old student union.”

Probably one of the cutest things I have ever experience and it kind of just gives a little hope of the genuine love that is out there still. Also, just a nice little happy moment amongst the studying :)

  4. Hopefully this will make you smile, at least a little bit :)

  5. Valentine’s day.  So many are unhappy today and I simply do not understand.  In years past, I have felt that I am not good enough because I did not have a boyfriend on Valentines Day, someone to celebrate a holiday with.  This year I came upon the realization that I have so many to celebrate with.  To celebrate life with.  Valentines Day, single or married, is a day to celebrate love.  And as far as worth goes, the only one I need to find my worth in is the one I find the purest love in.

Happiness is…cupcakes for dinner, waking up to Archimedes, wearing glasses, businesses who care, lovely dinners, fancy deserts, flowers, beautiful friends, people who are blessed with the gift of writing, realizations of what God has given us, packages from home (that include toothbrushes), and the feeling of not being distraught when there is a lot ahead.

    PS- Happy Valentine’s Day <3

  6. The realization of how much you are hurting another person is a difficult one to come to, but one that I found today.  The Lord has faithfully pursued my heart, and my pursuit of His has not come anywhere near matching.  In the weirdest way, talking through tithing this morning in church, the Spirit moved and I was given a sense of renewal, but the one condition the Lord gave me was to stop apologizing for not pursuing Him, and just pursue.  Kind of like, “Just do it.” So often we rebuke Jesus by simply not opening our hearts to the beautiful things that He has done and continues to do for us.  Why the heck would we do that?

Happiness is…renewal, the faithfulness of the Lord, meeting new people, uncomfortable eating, grocery madness, Encounter Campus Ministries, little reminders, fighting for a cause, and solid music discoveries.

  7. Today was a beautiful day.  Not necessarily the weather, but full of beautiful people and beautiful things.  Invisible Children was blessed with the opportunity to participate in the International Fair at ISU and out of this came great opportunity.  We met a lot of people in the community and a lot of people met the cause and fell in love with the beautiful people of Africa.  Due to a long time desire and a few nudges from friends, I also took the bold step of getting my lip pierced today.  On top of these things, a dear friend’s boyfriend who has a huge heart surprised me by bringing Archimedes home.

Happiness is…not feeling tired after barely any sleep, experiencing new cultures, meeting people with huge hearts, desires to change the world, boldness, kindness, Archimedes, and craft time :)

  8. Superbowl Sundayyyyy

today was a very tired day, but good nonetheless!

Happiness is…there are 2 services at clearview on sundays, I go to church in an old theater, chipotle, conversations that are about things that matter, realizing there are people to help you when your plate is overflowing, roommates that are okay just sitting and watching the superbowl not at a party, new music, talking to old friends, and the Sword in the Stone :)

  9. Birthday :)

The last two days have been a celebration of my 21st birthday and it has been fantastic..

Happiness is.. pretty nails, Mumford & Sons pandora, mom visiting, receiving a gift I’ve wanted since I was 10, new hair color, best friends visiting, friend groups combining, beautiful cakes (homemade and non), delicious dinner, being 21, celebrating a special day with people you love, crazy dancing/singing parties, homemade breakfast, BWW, naps, courage, and knowing you are going to get a good night sleep.

I love you all dearly and thank you for making this the best birthday yet :)

  10. SNOW DAYS

Even though I woke up this morning nauseous, the last two days of my life have been pretty legit.

2 snow days worth of happiness:

Day 1: getting to jump on my roommates beds and scare one of them, sleeping til noon, apple cinnamon pancakes, adventures, angel men coming out of no where, cool neighbors to play 4 square with in the hallway, clean room, acting like a 5 year old in the snow, perfect snow angels, friends braving the storm to see you, good movies, and craft time just because the rodeo is coming.

Day 2: sleeping until noon, making a good breakfast, getting sucked into tv shows and having the time to watch them, empty hardware stores, paying it forward, finding new bands & enjoying old ones, and having our living room partially decorated!
