day 134.
Today I learned: About the beautiful poetry of Anis Mogjani.
I am a night time cereal eater. I will shake the dust.
day 127.
Today I learned: That I don’t like saying goodbye.
I had to say “see you soon” to one of my best friends who I won’t see until we get back to school in August. She is a wonderful lady who is going to do amazing things in the world and I’m so glad to call her my friend. I will miss slumber parties in the living room and sitting on the bathroom floor listening to music, but I’m confident we’ll be back together before I know it.
I’m so proud of her and so blessed to have her in my life.
day 38.
Today I learned: That little tiny, baby turtles are only sold illegally in the United States.
At least I’m pretty sure.
My roommate and dear friend is on a lets-buy-a-little-tiny-baby-turtle-kick and the rest of my roommates and I are in full support. We already have a couple of really loud, perpetually bickering, green and yellow birds so why not add some more pets into the mix. Nevermind that the boys across the hall just got a cameleon. Maybe they can all be friends?
Anyway, a quest was made to the pet store today and nowhere seemed to have little tiny baby turtles! After piecing together various bits of information, multiple sources confirmed that they are typically sold under the table in Chinatown or at open air markets in Florida. What the heck?
If anyone finds a way to get one little tiny baby turtle for us please let me know. His name is going to be Archimedes and we will feed him and walk him and bathe him and love him forever. Much appreciated!
So this morning I embarked on my quest to get healthy. I haven’t been taking care of myself as much as I should be, but now I am committed. Here is what I am planning on doing. I am going to work out early in the morning every day except Thursday and Saturday. Sunday I will probably work out in the early afternoon. I will also be posting here after every work out, so you guys gotta keep me accountable. Also if you have any pointers, feel free to share them. I will take all the help I can get. So now that you know that, let’s talk about my workout.
Today was the first so I took it pretty easy. I ran a mile on a treadmill and did some crunches. The mile wasn’t that bad, but the crunches really made me realize I am out of shape! I was somewhat of an athlete in high school, and I remember doing 50-100 crunches as a warm up. So I laid down and said to myself, “I will go easy and start with 50.” At about 12 I said, “maybe 25 would be better.” 25!!!!!!!! That is embarrassing! I did some other ab stuff, but to feel it that fast shows me that I need this right now. Well I will be seeing you all tomorrow, Toodles!
